The International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu is the greatest family event in Quebec, by day or by night!

Amongst the biggest events in Quebec, the Festival is a member of RÉMI (Regroupement des événements majeurs internationaux). As a worldwide reference when it comes to ballooning and inflatables with over 1,500,000 square feet of activities surrounding this theme, the Festival also acts as one of the most important presenter of national and international outside shows.

The event, founded in 1984, is built around four pillars: product, production, marketing and sales.

The International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu is looking for waiters and waitresses to attend its beer booths during the event.

We are looking for people who:

  • Are majors (18 years old and above)
  • Have related job experience
  • Provide excellent customer service

Openings: 20

These openings are volunteering. Waiters and waitresses receive tip.

Schedule: around 12 PM to 11 PM. Possibility to work from 12 PM to 6 PM or from 5 PM to 11 PM

Duration: From August 12th to August 20th (the waiter or waitress doesn’t have to be available all 9 days)


The International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu is hiring hosts and hostesses for the duration of the event.


  • Greet and welcome visitors
  • Validate access to the assigned sector
  • Ensure the event site is clean and secure
  • Set-up and remove parasols
  • Open and close the assigned sector

Salary: Between $11,25 per hour and $13,00 per hour, depending on the host’s or hostess’ functions.

Under the supervision of the bunting responsible and the bunting team coordinator, and with their collaboration, the bunting daily worker participates in the realization of all the necessary actions for the pavilion of the site.

Main responsibilities:

  • Respect the schedules and deadlines established by the officer in charge of the pavilion
  • Participate to daily tasks, such as:
    • Install and uninstall the equipment (inflated elements, decorative fabrics, banners, LED lights, projector, etc.)
    • Ensure the integrity of the site and maintain it in good condition during the event
    • Keep inventory of siding and signaling elements
    • Maintain equipment
  • If needed, assist the generalist in the pavilion
  • Offer a logistic and technical support during the event
  • Respect and apply health and work security standards
  • Perform all other related tasks

In order to support us for the next edition, we are looking for a delivery man/woman. The tasks and responsibilities related to this job are essential to the preparation and the realisation of the International Balloon Festival.

Main responsabilities:

  • Deliver orders to costumers on site and charge them adequately (shopkeep bill, signature, purchase order)
  • Follow up with the warehouse clerk for billing control
  • Respect the health and security program
  • Execute all other tasks or any projects assigned

The International Balloon Festival is looking to hire cashiers for the duration of the event. This position is very important, since it is the first contact with festivalgoers.  

Your responsibilities are:

  • Charge the entrance or parking fee to visitors;
  • Control accreditations (if needed)
  • Carry out deposits and make sure your cash is even at the end of the day
  • Use the machine for card payments (debit or credit).

The position requires proficiency in mental calculation, interpersonal skills as well as the ability to react quickly in order to efficiently manage long waiting lines.

Under the authority of the Logistics Responsable, and with its collaboration, the entrance staffs participate to the realisation of all actions necessary for crowd control.

Principal tasks :

  • Welcome, inform and guide festivalgoers;
  • Guide the crowd and enable circulation of festivalgoers on site;
  • Apply site rules by verifying bag contents;
  • Prohibit access to vehicules, bicycles, rollerskates and animals from site;
  • Make sure the site remains safe.

We are looking for a shopkeeper to aid us for the next International Balloon Festival. The responsibilities of the shopkeeper are essential for the well-being and the realisation of the Festival.

As a shopkeeper, you will:

  • Receive the goods ordered from the suppliers and validate the delivery note according to the quantities received
  • Instruct the deliverer how to store the goods in the trailers
  • Ensure a constant inventory follow-up and warn your supervisor when the inventory is running low
  • Take care of the orders from the clients on the event area
  • Manage teams on the event area
  • Manage priorities and emergencies and assign tasks to teams
  • Make sure the clients’ orders are thorough and handed out the deliverers with an invoice. We manage invoices with ShopKeep
  • Ensure at all times that the deliverers use appropriately and adequately the equipment of the International Balloon Festival
  • Observe the Health and Safety Program
  • Execute every other task or project your director assigns you

We are looking for someone who is:

We are looking for dispatchers for upcoming International Ballon Festival. The tasks and responsibilities related to this position are essential to the preparation and realisation of this major event that is the International Balloon Festival.

Under the supervision of the telecommunications manager, the dispatchers will have to ensure relay of communications between the various departments of the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

Main responsibilities:

  • Promote information transmission on the field with the help of various tools (radio-communications, computing, telephony, maps, etc.)
    • Receive and analyse requests from various participants
    • Transmit requests to the appropriate resources according to the established procedures
    • Process calls according to priority
  • Apply the distribution protocols during current communications or in emergency situations
  • Contact with emergency services when the situation requires it

Required profile:

Under the Planning Coordinator’ supervision, your responsibilities will be to execute tasks according to the daily projects (paintwork, carpentry, transportation, etc.) while respecting production schedules, participating in setup and teardown according to predefined zone plans, maintaining a clean and ordered workplace and respecting occupational health and safety standards.

Required profile:

  • Handy, with a good knowledge of tools and basic construction materials;
  • Flexibility regarding work schedules;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license;
  • A forklift license will be considered an asset.
