5 up and coming artists that you’ll love

The shows of the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu are always a great opportunity to see your favorite artists on stage. However, it’s also the ideal place to make some new discoveries! Here are a few you won’t want to miss this August…

New to the world of Quebec pop music, Laurence Nerbonne does not disappoint. Inspired by Swedish pop rhythms, she has the right words that speak about her generation’s reality. It’s impossible not to dance to the sound of her music. Her show should definitely be at the top of your list, on August 13th at 4:40 PM and 5:20 PM on the Hydro-Quebec stage, as well as at 7:00 PM on the Tim Hortons Star stage.Mentana

Maybe you’ve already heard them on the soundtrack of Rafaël Ouellet’s movie Camion, or at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. One thing is sure, if you’ve heard them, you love them! Their music, influenced by folk and Americana, is perfect for nice summer days just like the ones we’ll have during the festival! It’s a date on the Hydro-Québec and Tim Hortons Star stages on August 19th.

This Star Académie 2012 edition participant doesn’t cease to surprise us. Either accompanied by a band or simply acoustic, Andréanne A. Malette has a unique voice you recognize every time. Come and sway to her authentic and catchy music this August 16th on the Hydro-Quebec and Tim Hortons Star stages. You won’t regret it!

This young songwriter, who had a humble musical start, has evolved a great deal over the last few years. After touring Europe, the United States and all over Canada, the Quebecer will be at the International Balloon Festival this August 16th and 17th, on the Tim Hortons Star and Hydro-Quebec stages. Come discover his folk pop sound!

You probably know her because of her appearance on La Voix, 2013 edition. However, Alexe Gaudreault has traced her own path since. Her song “Placebo”, made its way to the top of francophone charts. After securing the first parts of Marc Dupré’s shows this year, she will be under the projectors once again on August 13th and 18th, on all 3 stages of the festival!

This is only a small sample of all the emerging artists you’ll have the opportunity to discover on the International Balloon Festival’s stages. Visit our website to view the complete lineup and buy your tickets on pre-sale so that you can enjoy the most of your festival!
