Senegalese-born R&B artist Akon has to his credit an impressing number of collaborations, some of which now achieving great success and over 8 million albums sold globally. The song Sexy Bitch, a collaboration with D.J. David Guetta, has reached #1 in six countries. After winning an American Music Awards in 2007 (R&B Male Artist), Akon released his Freedom album in 2008. The song Right Now is still a hit on dance floors everywhere today. Akon’s performance at the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu will be his only one in Quebec and festival-goers will be the first to hear the new songs to be featured on his next album, slated for release next fall. Until then, Party Animal, Akon’s first highly popular song, can be heard on the radio.
