Welcome to the new 2012 Pilot Application!

 

This year we decided to innovate, modernize, improve our registration system. This new application will guide you through the registration process. Moreover, please note that the application form does not need to be completed at one time. You can complete only the information that you know and come back later once you have your log book and documents in hand without starting over. All information entered will not be lost and you can come back to make changes or update information at any time by logging in with your email and a password you choose. So, year after year, you'll simply have to change your information rather than filling the entire form.

Please note that the application will be in two phases: First, you will be able to fill out the registration form as usual but later (in late February, the exact date of entry will be sent to you you later by email), you can upload your documents (pilot license, last biannual Flight Review, Balloon annual inspection, etc..) directly on our website and the Balloon Coordinator may approve these documents online. So you can go back to your profile to add / edit documents and have a real-time tracking of the documents you must provide to complete your registration.

To start your application you will need to setup an account for your login. Your login name is your email address. You will need to create a password. The password requires at least 6 characters must including one number and one letter. You will need to use this login any time you return to your registration. After you have completed all of the required forms, you will "submit" and you will receive an email confirming your entry. If you need to update your registration after you have checked out, you may do so by logging back into your account. An update may be a change in your phone number or the update of your last flight review, etc. Valérie Doucet will be notified of any changes you make on your registration. However, you must wait for official confirmation from the Balloon Festival Committee before considering your participation at the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

Here are a few simple rules to make your registration easier. All items marked with an asterisk are required. You may upload a photo of yourself and/or your balloon(s) but it is not required. If you want to have an additional pilot for your hot air balloon or co-pilot, you will need their "Pilot Certificate Number" and their email address in order to invite them to fly your balloon.

Primary Pilot with a Balloon:
Clicking and selecting from the tabs, you will need to complete: Step 1 – Greeting Letter, Step 2 – Agreement and conditions of entry, Step 3 – General information, Step 4 – Statement of responsibility and Step 5 –Registration. Now you can add your balloon by clicking the link. Completing the balloon form. You can now Checkout and submit your application by clicking on the link. You will be presented with summary page showing the check list of items you must provide to complete your application.

Primary Pilot - adding an additional pilot to one of your Balloons:
To list an additional pilot on one of your balloons click the "invite a friend" link or button next to the balloon you want them to be listed on. You will need their "Pilot Certificate Number" and their email address in order to invite them. After submitting the system is ready for your additional pilot to complete his part.
